Alum used in "natural aluminum free deodorants" - Yikes - Alum is aluminum sulfate

Many companies are marking Alum containing deodorants as a natural safe deodorant.  Yikes !!!  Alum is Aluminum - it is Aluminum Sulfate.  Two companies are advertising these deodorants as aluminum free.

I have written to a few companies to inform them.  One company was very appreciative of the information and asked Dennis for what other ingredient they could use.  They were not aware that Alum was Aluminum Sulfate.  I will let you know if I hear back from the other company.

Coffee/Tea Maker –the heating element in which the water is heated is usually made of   

                                           aluminum 

Safer Alternative :Coffee makers where the water never contacts aluminum

Drip Style : Krups  Mocha brew, Jura  Copresso MG 900, Bunn Speed/Velocity Brew, Keurig, Nespresso Type C110 (the aluminum cups have been tested and they are safe), Braun coffee maker model KF7000

Food – Products that contain baking powder (some baking powders contain Aluminum):

Pancakes, Frozen pancakes, pancake mixes, waffles, donuts, muffins, cupcakes, cakes,  

biscuits,  scones,  biscoti, tortillas, corn bread, brownies, baked fruit and vegetable breads                   (banana, blueberry, zucchini etc.) 

               Candy – Jelly beans, M&M’s, skittles – the dyes  contain Aluminum Lake

 Shredded Cheese and Salt – Alum (aluminum sulfate) or aluminum silicate are used as anticaking   agents

              Pickles – Alum (aluminum sulfate)

Antiperspirant - Most contain Aluminum, sometimes listed as Alum
